Weekend events
So its been a while, this is a terrible way to start off a blog, but whatever. Not only that Im a bad blogger, I dont have outside links, I dont have pictures. I suck. But this time I do have pictures.
So me and erik went down to the Cycle Jerks' Monster Track 8 premier. I didnt get to see the premier, but I did ride the race, which was amazing. It was 4 checkpoints all across town, even crazy spots like having to find a railroad bridge that crossed the Poudre. It was a lot of fun. In the beginning I just got stomped, I realized my choice of pants was terrible, they were too tight, too black, and too thick. They were killing me from the get go, and I felt pretty much fucked from there on out, as the only spot I didnt know how to get to was the first spot, so I strived to keep up and did. I eventually got two spots mixed up, the 8th ave viaduct and the train bridge. I saw trains under 8th ave and headed for em before realizing everyone was going over the bridge for a reason. That was the 3rd stop and we got a DB-Couriers sticker. Along the way to stop 4, I dropped by sticker right in the middle of federal, I spent a good while jumping in and out of traffic trying to chase down a sticker being drug away by death machines. Had some off roading, all in all it was a fun as hell race. I did much better this time, at track attack I got second to last, which was only due to one guy getting a flat and another guy just disappearing. Anyway this time I was 10th to last out of 38, which is freaking rad. I even beat some people that are quick as hell and I know that they know the city like the back of their hand. Turn outs posted below. Nobody took good pics so Im not posting any from this, waiting for erik to get his pics up and see if we got some good ones, if so you'll be seeing them.

After that me and Erik made some errand until we headed to civic park to meet up with a bunch of folks for bike prom. Which is probably the best thing since 1998. I met a lot of rad people. Everyone is there because they like riding bikes and that is all that you need to be cool. At 8:30 we made the parade going down to the location, there were a ton of people. On the way down probably 5 blocks into it I pass this kid Tyler whom seems to not like me too much as he was kind of being a dick head at civic park, but whatever thats his game. Anyway I pass him and we are all pulling up to this red light, a few people cut through, I wait and cut through later, right after I cut through I hear a brutally loud noise, along with the sound of a tire pop. It scared the hell out of me. I look back and the kid is laying 30 ft in front of a stopped car. Instantly I get butterflies, and was just like, really god, fuck really. Anyway I ran over to him, and one of the girls riding was a former EMT. He seemed coherent, which I was stoked about, cause looking back at the car, the first thing you notice is a shattered windshield. Eventually the cops were coming up and everyone took off so they werent in the way. The entire ride everyone stayed together and felt pretty shooken up. I had the butterflies and was freaking out for quite a while, even though he was kind of a dick head. He deffinitaley didnt need to get in a wreck, it was scary. And nobody wants to see another biker get hit. But I later caught up with that EMT later in the night and she said he was completely fine, and was just freaking out cause he couldnt afford medical bills and all that jazz. So be stoked.
Anyway I met a ton of people, one rad dude from a cool blog called X Rocks the Spot, named broox (I believe thats how he spells it.
I gave two girls some money to spank me and make out with me for a good while. Which was rad, it was a kissing booth for a girl named Lilly who got hit by a car. I dont know her benefit website, but you can probably find it somewhere on cycle jerk's blog somewhere. Not sure.
Even though there was 300 (guestimation) Cyclists there, I seemed to be the only one with extra tubes/tools/pump. I help so many people replace their tires, or fix their bikes, or lent out my tools. Everyone returned my tools and was super cool thankfully. On rad dude which I wish I catched his name hooked it up. I think it was his Girlfriend or just a friend or maybe even a spouse or something whatever. Anyway she had a 700-27 tire and I happened to have 700-23/25 tubes. We went with it because I was the only person who could probably help. Anyway it worked out, I did a lifetime of pumping and put the tire back on her bike. They were taking off, said their goodbyes and thankyous, and then her Boyfriend or whatever gives me the slap'n pound and smooth as shit hands off money to you. You know for a fact this dude has probably done some shady stuff with some money. Cause there are those people who will sneak money into your hand but you have to grab the money to make the transfer complete, this guy just put it in my hand and when I came back I had a wad of money in my hand. I was stoked, and tried to give it back, which I feel bad for, not only was the dude being gracious, he probably didnt need to let people know he was blowing money like that, and I totally ruined the dudes super smooth move. Anyway her and she both seemed like really rad people, I wish I would have remembered their names. If you read this, thanks guys. Anyway Im getting worse and worse at using comma's and punctuation. That means I need to stop writting. It was a fun day, thanks to cycle jerks, thanks to 3 kings, thanks to the bike prom organizers, thanks to folks from ohio who like to make out with moms, and thanks to the many various guys and girls who kissed me, or fondled whatever body part was to their choosing without warning.
I will leave with a couple of pictures:

thinkers
so it has been a while since my first post. But you can blame that on a lack of inspiration coming from dispatch101.net. He usually posts nothing but gold. I think he is loosing it.
I have been riding a lot lately, and really pushing myself to do better in a lot of aspects since that race. In the race I got such a massive burn in my legs I was just being brutalized, now I try to work up that burn all of the time. Some of those denver kids have some crazy skinny and tiny bodies with some wicked gnar calves. Mad respect.
Other than pushing myself on my distance riding and endurance, Ive learned some new tricks. Ive gotten a lot better at my track stands. Probably going for a little under a minute on the best ones. But the most exciting ones tonight was a leg over skid, where you throw your leg over your handle bars and skid with one leg. Thanks to Jen from cycle jerks for her tut on velo or for some mag I believe. I also worked up the balls to do suicide skids, meaning no handed. Yesterday that shit would have sketched me out beyond belief, but now its cake. Im going to top with lighting cigarettes or slamming a beer before the end of a skid. hehe.
My Chrome bag came in today. Its sorta lame to rock messenger gear when I am not a messenger.. But a lot of this stuff was made for a reason, to haul shit on your bike. Which I need to haul around plenty of tubes, extra parts, tools... Im a mess. got another flat today, which brings me to somewhere around 10+ for this month on flats.
A friend decided to get real drunk and ride at night without his contacts on his new pista frame. Hit what used to be a wheelchair accessible ramp onto this shortcut trail. Anyway ther was construction there and they neglected to put up any kind of signage and the dude took a face plant into the ground. Embeded a tooth in his face up by his nose, put some gnar road rash all over his face, and generally just got really fucked. Nobody wants to go through that.
Anyway I would like to post some pictures but I still havent gotten any from my buddy or synced my phone to show you fun stuff. But some cool news is, is that next pay check I am going to invest in a helmet cam that I found cheap, takes about a full hour of video which is rad. So we might just say fuck it with the cams and start posting vids of the days ride. need to figure out some video editing software and throw some tracks on there.
Anyway I wanted to leave you with this rad video i just found. I love the game tron, the movie is good too. Som dudes made it for bicycles, but absolutely dont remember exactly how tron was played. Its a rad idea and I am glad someone attempted it, but this is just the begining, there has to be a better more dynamic way to set up a game stage to get gnar on some real tron.

lots to start
Ive been riding a lot lately. Yesterday the track attack folks teamed up wtih a skate shop to throw an event called skatebike. Me and a friend Erik went down to check out the scene and see if we could have some fun. Being which we did. A lot of really solid riders who know their town and their bikes.
We only stayed for the race as Erik was pretty down, having wrecked into a parked car last night he wasnt doing too well. We both tied for second/third to last. Along with a lot of people I started out the race at the 50 broadway checkpoint, i thought I was way behind but I was the first to show up at the stop. There was a girl who I had been riding along and we both kept going up and down the block looking for the shop before finding it. Once I left the shop I was completely turned around and almost started heading the complete opposite way of the next stops. Going up broadway against traffic while trying to find a street you dont know in a city you dont know.. just sucks. I eventually ended up finding speer. But by the time I got to the other stops they guys were sick of waiting. Not to mention me and Erik met up, along to the next stop and the dude was mega dehydrated and his face was throbbing from the previous night. Anyway I hope that dude gets better, hes a good person to ride with.
I had so much fun that Im going to head back down to Denver to ride an alley cat that the cycle jerk kids are throwing along side a monster tack 8 movie premier.
To close off with some lessons. Dont try to be a badass, messengers are crazy anyway even just to work that job and they ride their bikes to eat, dont run lights and traffic like a maniac when you dont need to, just stupid. Second be careful with your genital while crashing, they can bruise and be gnar enough to take you out of riding. But if all you have is genitals that are hurting, enjoy your survival.
Anyway Ill post some pictures of the week later.
